Epcot:

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah Tip of the Day
(since we have no cable site this time, I brought the mp3 and did my own tips):

  • If it looks like rain, bring a change of clothes in a bag. Store it in a locker or whatever so you can change out of damp things instead of risking a cold in the AC.

  • Want to park up very close to the parks? Bring your dog! Kennel parking is up front of the parking lots since pets cannot ride trams, monorails, or the ferry.

    Happy

  • I brought my fugily lanyard (the one from Kellogg's; our friend, Dave Turberville said it's the ugliest thing he ever saw after seeing his wife, Kim's, who helped me get mine.) decide to change the pins on it based on park -- with a few “great” ones always on it (like the “What Would Walt Do”. Man, I didn't realize how many pins I had until I tried to narrow it down from a vest to a lanyard, even with it being per park.

  • We still have our TV and DVD player. As John watches a “Friends” box set, he jokes, “Look, hon! It's the Friends channel. All Friends, all the time!”

  • When we ask for the kennel, a security guy says, “Just follow me”. We get a ‘police' escort straight through the parking lot!

  • Three Mickey Mouse sightings within the first hour there!! Had the perfect picture, but see below.

  • Oh my god, we eat so much! Nachos in France, rice cream in Norway, buffet in Germany, something in Morocco, and when we lose the pictures, chocolate mousse in France! We were going to eat something in each country, but ugh...

  • Germany buffet did fill us up, even though we had to skip a bunch of dishes since we're vegetarian. But John makes me eat a carrot.

  • Get surprise Fast Pass for “Honey I Shrunk the Audience” when we get a FP for Test Track!

  • Put luggage tag (beautiful one from Disney Travel) on my lanyard! So if get lost, people know where to mail me back. Seriously, it's just so sharp looking.

  • Mousegear cast member is from Calabrase, Italy: the place where John's paternal grandparents emigrated from.

  • I got a Mickey poncho eventually, and made Pal Mickey one out of a Disney store bag. Better than being home in the rain!

  • In Germany, met family who just did the Disney Cruise - Eastern Caribbean. Recommended it highly!

  • I can't get over that the guy in the Test Track “command center” is the actor in A Mighty Wind and Best in Show!

  • Saw the new China film: very good! I especially love the scenes showing modern day architecture. Incredible!

  • Looking around for a suddenly missing John, I hear a couple chuckling next to the fountains. Apparently well traveled, the man says smiling as the water and sounds mark the hour, "I've seen all kinds of fountains. I've never seen one used as a clock. Love it."

    Big grin

  • Leaving a legacy: John's absolute favorite. NOT! he calls them tombstones and hides his eyes from them whenever we walk through. Always good for a laugh.
  • John makes joke in Test Track, as we hear tires squealing etc., that it must be the teenagers in their golf cart again.

  • I shout out loud in case a Cast Member can hear me around Mission: Space,"Go ahead, use me as a test rider! I'm willing to sign a waiver!!"

  • Sent out two video emails right away to friends. The best one was me saying,"Look! I lost my job so what do I do now? I go to Disney World!"

  • We're taking our break in France when Esmeralda and another Hunchback character walk by, the Jester looking narrator. And for the life of us, even though it's burning on the tip of our tongues, we can't think of his name. We sit there going,"I know it! I know it! It's Cl... Cla... Clo..." John, bursting out laughing, goes,"Clappy!"
  • A tourist with two heads? No! Just me wearing Pal Mickey under my chin and inside my rain poncho when it pours!
  • Embarrassed

  • OK, I'm ludicrous. I took video inside MouseGear so I could get that cog be bop jammin' sound. But you'll be emailing me when I figure out how to get it as a wav!
  • John was right. We're in the wrong site. The people supposed to be in 1717 went into ours, 1716. We agree to stay where we are. Nice people, by the way.

    Mad Waah!!

  • ALL OUR PICTURES GET DELETED!! Our digital camera got stuck in movie mode, and while playing around trying to get it out, all pictures get deleted. We try to retake some, but so many are gone!!! I cried, I was so upset. This happened to us so much last trip, and my last nerve snapped.

    Sniff!

  • Rained while we got ready, but cleared. Then rained again for most of the day. Oh well, gives me an excuse to make Pal Mickey a rain poncho out of a Mousegear bag!
  • It hits me about our limited time. We can't say "Oh, we'll come back and do that later this week." This is it.

    D'oh!

  • Clock in Germany under repair. When I finally was hanging around to see it.

  • Morgan, when we go back to walk the dogs, jumps up on my white 100 years of magic shirt. Sigh. Time to change.

  • Didn't check batteries in my magic moments pin (purchased on last trip). They're dead so no magic moments.

    Psst!

  • In asking about a cut scene from the Norway film, one of the native cast members told us that they're filming a new movie for the attraction!

    Dog notes

  • Casey hurt her paw, pulling a toenail almost all the way out. She's fine walking on it etc., but she's sensitive about it. I can't do anything but watch it. If it gets worse, we'll have to get a vet.

  • What is it with our dogs? Both trips, their first walk, they go to the bathroom right in the middle of the road!

    Must Do List: Must-do list:

  • Living Seas: We hadn't done this in years, and I really wish we had before they shut down the ride around the tank. Still, it's great seeing the movie again, plus looking around the tank from the various viewports. Rocko (I think Rocko) the manatee does some very nice underwater tricks for us, even without having a tail (destroyed by a speed boat). And I love watching the kids renewed interest in sea life now that they've seen"Finding Nemo".

    Not your mother's Hidden Mickeys

  • A Hidden Mickey is a Hidden Mickey whether made by Imagineers, Mother Nature, or coincidence. That's my mandate! I don't care what John says! ;) Therefore let me present, a moss Hidden Mickey on the path around Odyssey. (See picture)
  • Wood chip Mickey - in our camping site (See pic)

    Best Pal Mickey moment

  • Beamed like a kid on Christmas when he first started talking again! Which was the opening at Spaceship Earth.

  • Favorite saying: Did you know tangerines are indigenous to Morocco, not the US?

    Souvenirs:

  • Dory keychain (love it)

  • Mickey beach keychain -- keychains must be my new thing. These 2 keychains, along with the luggage tag (see above) go on the keyring part of the fugily lanyard. I am SO the tourist!

  • Year of the Dragon T-shirt from China (gift from John to me)

  • Postcard pin

  • pin backs

  • magnet from France -- that famous black cat print

  • license frame of"Been there, done that, going back" for friend Kim (she tried to get it last time and couldn't find it)

  • 75 years of Mickey for passholders pin (gift to John from me -- he loves Sorcerer Mickey)

  • Bought my mother a year of the rooster crystal keychain -- don't ask.

    Pleasure Island:

    Happy

  • Love the way they light up the street signs! So easy to see!!
  • Adventurer's Club is going good, but we're so tired that we call it a night before the rhythm ritual and Hoopla.

    Embarrassed

  • I buy a WDW monorail pin, insisting to John that I needed it -- that I had looked for it everywhere our last trip and couldn't find it. As we sit I in the Adv C, I remember that I hadn't looked for the monorail pin, I was looking for a Disney Bus pin! Worse, I think we HAVE this monorail pin at home.

    Scuse me?

  • We walk right into the Comedy Warehouse, but the show is kind of lame; it takes almost to the end before they get something good going (with the exception of Pat, and no I'm not playing favorites because she comes from my state! ;)

  • When we get back to the site, we have a letter from Fort Wilderness. No, not about the dogs. ;) They're routing power to new electrical boxes. There will be a small power outage tomorrow morning, plus John's worried we can't reach the new box with our chords.

    Curious

  • Attendance at both Epcot and Pleasure Island is so low. Yeah, it rained a bit today, but it's June! Peak Season! No complaints, but where are all the peaks?
